Crazy Week!!!

This week feels like it will never end.  We have had a roller coster of a couple days.  It all started on Sunday afternoon, when Londyn decided that it was time to start crawling.  It seems like she never wants to sit still anymore.  The littlest tasks are now hard to accomplish, like changing her diaper or clothes.  Then, Sunday evening we started noticing a rash developing on her stomach and back.  We thought that maybe it was from rubbing on the carpet from crawling.  Then over the day Monday, the rash spread all over her body and then her eye started getting red and swollen.  Needless to say I started getting worried, we call the pediatrician Monday night as was advised to start benadryl and call in the morning.  By the next morning, things were not getting better just worse.  So Tuesday I left school early and we went to the dr.  We started her on some medicine and special instructions of how to treat the rash.  By the time, I picked Londyn up from daycare on Wednesday her rash was better, but her eye was so much worse, it was really red, swollen, and stuff was starting to come out of it.  You could really tell it was bothering her.  This is hard to tell with Londyn because she is such a happy baby all the time.  Because of this, we called the Doctor back Wednesday night and she called in eye drops and for us to come in the next day.  So again on Thursday I left school early and took Londyn to the Doctor.  We have come to the realization that the rash isn't from food or a change in something, but is viral.  Which means it is something like the measles, mumps, or fifths disease and of course, we have to continue with what we are doing- Benadryl, eye drops, oatmeal baths, calamine lotion, and cortisone cream and let the rash run it course.  What everyone doesn't realize is that I am not good at that and when my baby looks so horrible it is so not easy.

I guess this is another important mother lesson to learn and so close to Mother's Day.  I don't know how we do this on a daily basis, but I guess that is why we are Mother's because we can handle anything.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!!
